3 April 2016 - General Conference in Boise

What a whirlwind of a week. We tried to get lots done prior to leaving for Boise to visit Susan and Cory and the kids for General Conference.
Tuesday was a Band Concert for Samuel.
Freshman Band
His band played first so he was able to finish playing for he had to hurry to a basketball game at the Stake Center. We made it just in time.
He plays good for not practicing at all. He could be so much better but that is definitely not his first love.
We had a lot to do to get ready for the trip. We wanted Vinay to take care of the dog and the chicks while we were gone and to water plants as needed. It hasn't rained as much as usual and it has actually been warm and sunny so we've enjoyed this beautiful spring weather.
Cleaned off the headstone and added pink roses.
Happy 17th Birthday, Danielle.
1 April 2016
Friday was the day we planned to leave. I had been taking care of Sean and Freddy on Tuesday and Thursday but that was cancelled on Tuesday which was such a blessing since I had so much to do to get ready. Sean is such a sweet boy but it's sad to see him unable to do much at this point in his life. I'm sure in the next life he'll be a choice spirit of God.
After helping watch Sean on Thursday I was able to go to the cemetery and put flowers on Danielle's grave. She would have been 17 this year. The same age as many of my Seminary students. It's almost not real to me that she could already be that old. She has a cousin that is a day older and it's interesting to see photos of him and note the changes in his life. I wonder what Danielle will be like. I  hope that I get to raise her.
Watching conference?????
Friday we picked up a rental car after Seminary and packed it up. We had some last minute instructions for Vinay and Rebekah came over to say good-bye. We picked Samuel up at school early and left around 1:00. We didn't get there until 9:30 or so. The little ones were already in bed but Jarom was still awake. He is growing so much and getting much thinner. He has a ready smile and seems like he is very needed in his home. Cory and Susan have painted much of the home and are looking at changing out the carpet for a hard surface flooring. They also got a new puppy, Cinder. She's a black standard poodle. It was nice to have some "talk time" before bed but we didn't get much.
Saturday morning was conference. I love conference and hearing from our prophets and general church leaders. It is always so inspiring. Both sessions of conference on Saturday were wonderful. That night Stephen, Cory, Samuel and Jarom went to the priesthood session while Susan, Kimball, Josiah and I went to the Deseret Bookstore. It is a smaller store than here in Seattle but it was packed. Josiah and Kimball won some goodies and there were cookies for refreshments but I like the "ladies night" here in Seattle better. We went out to eat at a salad bar after the store. Stephen and the boys went out too.
Sunday we watched the first session of conference and then packed up the car and began driving to Utah. We took some pictures of the family and then drove toward Utah.

In the Front yard of the Brighton home in Meridian, Idaho
We were able to pick up KSL radio at Twin Falls and listened to the remaining session while driving. It made the trip shorter. It was wonderful to hear about 4 new temples to be built. It is the fulfillment of revelation. What a wonderful time to live. We are so truly blessed.

Even the dogs got in the pix....
